The History of Teatro Alla Scala. We return once again to our cultural history series where
we explore the history of a different theatre! There are countless stunning and historic
theatres across the globe but with it being Women’s History Month, I wanted to focus on a
theatre connected to women’s history. This stunning theatre is home to a ballet company
and opera company and dates back nearly two and a half centuries. It was also founded
by one of the most accomplished female rulers of the eighteenth century. Today we are
exploring the history of the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, also known as La Scala! The Teatro
Alla Scala in Milan was founded by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria- yes, Marie Antoinette’s
mother. The Royal Ducal Theatre in Milan burned down in February 1776, and the Teatro
Alla Scala opened in August 1778. It was built on the site of the Church of Santa Maria
alla Scala, giving the theatre the name it still holds. Italian architect Giuseppe Piermarini
designed the Neoclassical building; it is still considered his principal work. The theatre
originally held approximately 3,000 seats and quickly became the new home of opera in
Milan. It was a popular social spot, with the foyer serving as a casino and the auditorium
itself a popular place for business transactions and social calls.(Yes, during performances)
The ballet company was officially founded in 1778, as was the opera company.

Italy's La Scala opens season with Verdi opera about tragedy of war. December 7, 2024 6:34
PM GMT+1. MILAN - Milan's famed La Scala opera house kicks off its new season on
Saturday with a Giuseppe Verdi drama adapted to the modern day to tell the tragedy of war,
as conflicts rage around the world from Ukraine to the Middle East. The original plot of La
Forza del Destino (The Force of Destiny) was set against 18th century wars in Spain and
Italy and told the story of the ill-fated love between Don Alvaro and Leonora, which was
frustrated by Leonora's brother Don Carlo. For the latest La Scala edition director Leo
Muscato decided to set the opera in four conflicts starting from 1700, incorporating the
First World War and arriving at the present day. "The last act takes place in a contemporary
world ... the audience sees what the media shows us every day, only rubble," Muscato
told reporters ahead of the opening night, adding that he was not referring to any specific
ongoing conflict. French baritone Ludovic Tezier, who stars as Don Carlo, said the message
the 19th century Italian composer was sending in one of his last operas was "to stop wars
and hate." At the tragic end of The Force of Destiny Don Carlo, in his dying breath following
a duel with Don Alvaro, fatally stabs his sister, leaving Alvaro alive but alone. Russian
soprano Anna Netrebko acts as Leonora and U.S.-born tenor Brian Jagde has taken over
the role of Don Alvaro from German Jonas Kaufmann, who was forced to withdraw in
November for personal reasons. The opening night at La Scala is a highlight of the social
calendar for Italy's political and business elite, coinciding with Milan's St. Ambrose holiday
celebrating the city's patron saint. REUTERS

Staying in one of the luxury hotels in the Domina chain allows you to have a unique
experience, immersed in the history and culture of Milan, within walking distance of this
iconic theater. With exclusive services and unparalleled attention to detail, Domina offers
guests an unforgettable stay, perfect for those wishing to explore the wonders of the city
of Milan. Why does La Scala have that name? La Scala owes its name to an ancient church
that stood on the same site. The church, dedicated to Santa Maria alla Scala, was built in
1381 at the behest of Regina della Scala, wife of Bernabò Visconti, lord of Milan. When
the church was demolished in 1776 to make way for the new theater, the name “alla Scala”
was kept in honor of its founder. This historical connection gives the theater not only a
distinctive name, but also an aura of tradition and prestige that makes it unique. What is
the most important theater in Milan? When it comes to theaters in Milan, the name that
resonates with majestic elegance is undoubtedly La Scala. This temple of opera attracts
music and culture enthusiasts from all corners of the globe. Located in the beating heart
of the city, La Scala is not only a symbol of artistic excellence but also a historical icon
that has seen the greatest names in opera and classical music perform. Its neoclassical
architecture, coupled with impeccable acoustics, offers a unique sensory experience that

the scenes, La Scala promises to enrich your stay with a touch of refined elegance and

Puccini Giacomo Madama Butterfly / Herbert Von Karajan, Maria Callas. All Music Review
by Stephen Eddins EMI's 1955 recording of Madama Butterfly features three of the
brightest stars of the era: Maria Callas, Nicolai Gedda, and Herbert von Karajan. Callas
hadn't yet sung Cio-Cio-San (Na Puttaka Mu Sa Saka) on-stage when she made this
recording, but she fully inhabits the role and brings penetrating insight to it. She's
completely convincing as an adolescent, a remarkable feat in this role, which requires
a voice of considerable heft. Callas beautifully captures Butterfly's vulnerability and
sensitivity with an astonishingly youthful-sounding vocal freshness, and she's
compellingly poignant as Butterfly's dilemma becomes clear to her. The only caveat
about her performance is the intonation and purity of her sustained notes above the staff
and several of them are painfully strident. Gedda is thoroughly caddish as Pinkerton,
and he sings with passion, but his voice shows some strain in the upper register. Mario
Borriello is a resonant, compassionate Sharpless, and Lucia Danieli sings with warmth
and security as Suzuki. Karajan, leading the Chorus and Orchestra of La Scala, has a sure
grasp of the score's dramatic contour and makes this a highly charged reading. The
orchestral playing is of the highest order. The recorded sound is clear and balance is
good, but it shows its vintage; it's somewhat cramped and lacks depth.

Let’s dig a little deeper to learn the answer. We will also uncover some of the biggest You
Tube Search myths, where those myths came from, YouTube’s real search engine position,
and why any of this matters — really matters! Is YouTube the 2nd Biggest Search Engine?
Not Really…So — how big is YouTube and is YouTube really the 2nd largest search engine
in the world? Nope! But…Of course, there is a “but” in this answer. So let’s get into the nitty-
gritty. Google itself markets its daughter company YouTube as the 2nd largest search

mostly ignored by marketers and others that affect this statistic. So let’s talk about those
ranking factors and how this YouTube search engine myth started. The YouTube Search
Engine Myth. The myth about YouTube being the second largest search engine in the
world started more than 10 years ago: in 2008!Back then ComScore analyzed the US
search engine market and found out that YouTube achieves a greater level of search
traffic than Yahoo. So, if you were to consider YouTube’s integrated search a regular
search engine, YouTube would rank 2nd on the podium.Aha. That’s quite a big “if“, isn’t
it?! The more recent articles on “YouTube as a search engine” don’t refer to ComScore
data anymore but to Alexa.com. Even Google’s official blog does that. However, and here
is where the confusion comes in, Alexa’s traffic ranks are for domains only. Which means
they do not measure search requests.

If you’ve been paying attention to breathless media pundits over the past couple of years,
you’d assume that YouTube has been relegated to the dustbin of social media platforms in
favor of trendy, hyperactively paced short-form video app TikTok. Praised as the video
platform of Gen Z, TikTok is popular for several reasons – such as an advanced algorithm
that quickly picks up on visitor preferences to show similarly themed videos, easy-to-use
editing tools, and the impression of being spontaneous and authentic. Despite controversies
surrounding exactly what happens to the massive amount of user data it gathers – which
has led to the app being banned on state government-owned mobile devices throughout the
U.S. – TikTok remains a cultural phenomenon. So where does that leave YouTube? Actually,
reports of its obsolescence are premature. Launched in 2005 and acquired by Google the
following year, YouTube has shown impressive staying power. Consider the following
statistics compiled by journalist Stacey McLachlan for Hootsuite: YouTube is the world’s
second most-visited website – right after parent company Google. 694,000 hours of video
are streamed on YouTube each minute – even more than Netflix, where users stream just
452,000 hours of video. YouTube has 1.7 billion unique monthly visitors. In total, the site
gets 14.3 billion visits per month: that’s more than Facebook, Wikipedia, Amazon and
Instagram. In the U.S., 62% of users access YouTube daily – some even visit several times
per day. Meanwhile, 92% of American users claimed to use the platform weekly and 98%
say they access the site monthly. 81% of internet users have used YouTube.

FEELING TIRED? THESE 3 SIMPLE SOLUTIONS ARE FOR YOU. Naranasan mo na ba ito?
You wake up in the morning from a good 8-hour sleep but you’re still feeling tired. Or maybe
your energy levels fluctuate throughout the day at madalas na bumababa sa hapon. Either
way, ang dahilan ay maaaring nasa iyong routine and habits. Your habits and routines define
80% of what you do every day. Ito ang mga bagay na ginagawa mo na autopilot, on repeat,
every single day, week, month, and sometimes years. Therefore, they dictate 80%+ how
effectively (or not) your energy is used. Without managing these habits/routines, hindi mo
talaga alam where or how your energy is being spent. And there are 3 ways to deal with this.
The first one is to. BALANCE YOUR ENERGY METER. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbalanse ng
iyong energy meter, I mean understanding your current routines and habits in terms of
energy. Some routines and habits give you energy, some take away your energy, and some
do both. The second way is. FIND ENERGY POSITIVE ACTIONS. Start to discover new
actions that replenish and refill your energy. Let’s take exercise for example. Exercising
may seem to be taking away your energy as you move and sweat. But in the long-term, it’s
going to boost your energy levels a lot. And the last solution to increase your energy and
keep it from fluctuating is to. TAKE ENERGY REPLENISHMENT SUPPLEMENTS. Taking
energy replenishment supplements, para sa akin, is the best solution to restoring energy.
Vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements can help supply missing nutrients from our diet.
Hindi lamang ito makakatulong na balansehin ang iyong diet, but they can also boost your
energy and help you get better sleep at night. With them, I rarely have energy fluctuations
which, to be honest, I really hate. After performing THESE 3 SIMPLE SOLUTIONS, to be
precise, you can also watch YouTube all night with all your favorite multimedia, without
feeling tired next morning.

So let’s get into the nitty-
gritty. Google itself markets its daughter company YouTube as the 2nd largest search
engine in the world. And, a number of Google reps like to talk about this. However, that
is not entirely true because there are several underlying ranking factors that are
mostly ignored by marketers and others that affect this statistic.

12 Best Songs of 2025 (So Far). My Morning Jacket, Jason Isbell, Horsegirl, and more have
wasted no time getting to the good stuff. As the seasons started to change, the music-
business machinery began creaking back into action. The new Lady Gaga album and
Chappell Roan single brought that superstar buzz, and the summer tour calendar continues
to fill up. Notably, these past few weeks saw the very welcome return of several remarkable
women from different generations (Fiona Apple, Haim, Annie Lennox) following extended
breaks. Together with a number of strong releases introducing album projects on the way,
it made for an encouraging March—and a lot to look forward to in the near future.

2025’s Q1 is officially over. St. Patrick’s Day came and went, and it looks like the winter is
finally beginning to wane here on the East Coast. March was full of memorable New Music
Fridays, including the spoils of 3/28’s riches, which saw album releases from Lucy Dacus,
Destroyer, Free Range, OHYUNG, Great Grandpa and many more. This month, we also got
remarkable deep cuts from the new Backxwash and Perfume Genius releases, the single
Chappell Roan teased on SNL last fall, feeble little horse’s return and a few unexpected
treats from the likes of Paco Cathcart and Moon Mullins. So, let’s take a moment to
celebrate the best of the best from these last 31 days. Here are our 10 favorite songs of
March 2025. Backxwash: “History of Violence”. A synth begins like a lullaby on “History
of Violence” before patiently building into an armor of metal drums and Michael Go’s
thrashing guitars. “Is Heaven the only semblance of peace?,” Backxwash asks. The song
is not just a reflection of her own political climate-inciting agony, or an uncomfortable
interrogating of cultural abuse, but an annihilation on global power, corruption and
gluttony; Backxwash prosecutes the fascists enabling the ongoing genocide in Gaza,
shouting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!” She condemns the world’s
leaders using freedom as a bartering chip; she recalls videos of dying Palestinian children
and reckons with what power fuels a slaughtering of innocent children: “These singer
gonna say it’s all about peace. Check the stats, the singer of mom, it’s all about greed.”

Seeing that Sasha Grey is not only a porn star but also a singer, I want to know that Ariana
Grande is not only a singer but also a porn star. It's pretty common to hear of celebrities
becoming "musicians" these days and it's even more evident in the electronic industry.
Everything from Paris Hilton to Elijah Wood (even 'Hordor' from Game of Thrones) are
on the DJ circuit. The last thing that rising musicians need, besides already struggling
to break into the industry, are marketing hungry promotors opting to top bills with these
celebrity musicians. So when a colleague passed along a mix from actress, erotic writer
and former porn star Sasha Grey, I didn't really expect much from it. https://api.sound
cloud.com/tracks/245385117 . I listen to music from people who are out there chasing
their dreams, the last thing I felt like doing was entertaining a mixtape from some
notable celebrity. But curiosity won me over (and I was stuck in traffic), so I gave it a listen.
Halfway into the track, I already had my foot in my mouth forever wanting to dismiss it.
After hitting play, I couldn't decide if I was jamming out to a fiery new Dirty Bird track or a
Berlin underground mix. Grey writes and produces her own music and her latest mix is
a testament to her wide range, eclectic taste in music and her ability to understand the
mechanics of solid electronic music production. The mix pulls from late 90s techno,
early R&B, classic disco and even some new age pop. It's seamlessly layered with fast-
paced tech house beats and strategically crafted transitions between artists like 100%
(featuring Jennifer John), Stardust, Tom Zanetti, Daft Punk and even added a funky bass
line to Kelis. Grey isn't just a savvy self-promoter, but a perfect fit for Soderbergh's look
into the lives of the rich, ambitious and needy during these recessionary times. If the
film posits its prostitute-protagonist as an emblem of go-go capitalism, Grey's work in the
porn industry could serve as a model for any CEO. As even the porn biz itself braces for
hard times ahead—with piracy, free online smut and over-supply cutting into profit
margins— we talked to the actress about business strategy and brand identity

Since she released her debut album in 2013, Ariana Grande has cemented herself as a
pop culture icon for the ages, and by that, I mean: You'd recognize her signature ponytail,
platform heels, and oversized sweaters anywhere. All that reflects a 2010s-era Ari, who
belted over tracks that took over radio waves and the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Now,
the Wicked star is gunning for her first Oscar thanks to her role as Glinda in the beloved
Broadway play's film adaptation, and she revealed that her pop star persona was as much
a character as the Good Witch in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.“ At a
certain point, you get tired of that [pop star] character, because it is a character,” she
told the publication. “There are pieces of you and your story that are woven throughout
your songwriting, but then, because of the way it travels and becomes sensationalized, it
gets away from you.”ICYMI, Ari became one of the biggest pop acts in the world with
seven studio albums, two Grammys, nine No. 1 singles, and nearly 85 million monthly
listeners on Spotify. At this point, she holds 37 Guinness World Records. But who's
counting? During her convo with The Hollywood Reporter, she added that her meteoric
rise came with some downfalls...including a rumor that her shrink “couldn't deal with her.”
